2017 was a fantastic year for Endless Trails.
With your help, we were able to raise more money for Northwest trails than in any previous year!
This was done in a variety of ways: fundraising trail races, sales from the Endless Trails store, and via direct donations.
Check out how *you* helped support Endless Trails in 2017:
- Cottontail 2017: Now five-years-old, and growing more and more fun with every passing event, Cottontail continues to grow as an Endless Trails fundraiser, too. As a result of donations and the support of everyone involved, Cottontail raised $1600 after costs this year—nearly $40 per participant! That's a really awesome ratio. (If you'd like to support Endless Trails by running Cottontail in 2018, registration is currently open!)
- Starlight Overnight 2017: In its second year, Starlight proved exceeding popular—but not particularly effective as a fundraiser for trails. Despite three times as many registered entrants as Cottontail, it only raised $400, and will not be an Endless Trails fundraiser in future years. We offered to keep it in the Endless Trails family of races, and would have been happy to do so, regardless of how much money it raised (or didn't raise), but the original organizer told us that going forward she'd prefer it to be a "free, fatass-style" event. We're still incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with the amazing crew at Flying Horseshoe Ranch, and for each of you who choose to show your support for trails via donations and participation in the first two years of this star-studded event.
- Sharlie Shuffle 2017: The inaugural Sharlie Shuffle was a resounding success! With only 30 registered runners, Sharlie raised $2000 (!!) to support local trails in Ponderosa State Park. (If you'd like to be a part of the second annual event on May 19th, registration is officially open!)
- Carkeek 2017: The eleventh annual Carkeek 12-Hour was once more a smashing success, as not only did longstanding records fall, but it was also the most financially successful Carkeek in its history as an Endless Trails fundraiser, raising nearly $5000 for Northwest trails!
Heartfelt gratitude abounding
On top of our trail fundraising races, quite a few of you made donations via PayPal, Amazon Smile, or the Endless Trails website, and we're grateful for each and every one of you. Every single one of those dollars goes back to trail education, advocacy, and trail work, and, as a result, makes our work for the trails you so love possible.
As a result of your support, Endless Trails was able to support a much greater range of projects this year than in previous years. Board members successfully put in over a thousand (!) hours of trail work and community service in 2017, in addition to supporting trail work projects in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah. We also helped develop curriculum for several educator programs and helped fund local projects in our respective outdoor communities. None of this would be possible without your support--so thank you, thank you, thank you!
